Welcome to HotelGuide.Networks' directory of hotels and hotel reviews for Helena, Montana!
East of the Continental Divide and west of Canyon Ferry Lake, Helena -- capital of Montana -- is fed by the Missouri River while surrounded by forest and Rocky Mountains. Mining camps and other historic landmarks remain from Helena's beginnings during the mid-1800s Gold Rush, along with opulent Victorian homes and urban social clubs built by later entrepreneurs. Helena has mushroomed steadily during intervening years, developing amenities and cultural venues to support growing academic, business and residential communities. Downtown is filled with galleries and studios featuring works by area artisans, and the Holter Museum of Art also shows the best of regional fine arts and crafts. The regional Queen City Ballet Company and the Premier Dance Company produce live performances and workshops. Other Helena attractions, from skate parks to carousels, provide plenty to do year around, and the city also serves as an ideal hub for day trips to outlying areas. Holter and Hauser lakes are popular destinations for boating, fishing, swimming, wind-surfing, ice sailing and other water sports. Spring Meadow Lake, open year-round west of downtown, attracts runners, hikers, and bird watchers in addition to anglers. Helena area lodging options range from downtown hotels and motels to conference facilities, lodges, bed and breakfasts, chalets, condos, cabins, and conference facilities.
